This
week’s Coffee Hour will be a discussion about work authorization with Jackie Chin from the Office of Global
Services (OGS).
This conversation will be especially helpful for graduating seniors interested
in utilizing Post-Completion Optional Practical
Training (OPT)
upon graduation, but we welcome students of all years, as it’s never too early
to consider pursuing pre-completion OPT or Curricular Practical
Training (CPT)
work authorization.
The discussion will include: the difference between CPT
& OPT; how to apply; best time to apply; processing times; travel after May
2016 graduation and much more. This Coffee Hour is very important as OPT
applicants for those graduating in May and returning students using F-1
pre-completion OPT in Summer 2016 should apply by March 1st.
