Museum of the Moving Image: Film Screening & Tour
Friday, May 29, 2015 | 1:15 pm - 5:30 pm
  
The program will start with a screening of 12 AngryMen, an iconic 1950's movie starring Henry Fonda, that addresses issues about the American justice system, that are still very relevant today, including notions of prejudice, peer pressure, & objectivity. A post-screening discussion, led by a museum educator, will follow.

There will also be a 1.5 hour guided tour of their core exhibition, Behind The Screen, to immerse ourselves in the creative process of making moving images and a glimpse of life behind-the-scenes.

Wix & Wine: Workshop & Social Mixer

This is the last social mixer & workshop of the spring semester! One-to-World is partnering with Wix.com to offer you an hour-long workshop on building your own, personal website. This is the time of year for job & internship hunting, and having a professional web presence is key in landing your dream job.

You will leave the evening feeling inspired and ready to build a brand new website. The networking, wine & cheese are just added perks!

Community Service: Farmers Market Food Distribution
Saturday, June 06, 2015 | 8:30 am - 12:00 pm (approx.)

Head out to Astoria, Queens to spend the morning handing out fresh fruits and vegetables at a "Mobile Market." One-to-World is partnering with City Harvest, a non-profit which exists to end hunger in communities throughout NYC.

The campus will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 25th. 

Classes begin on Tuesday!



Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country's armed forces.  The holiday is observed every year on the last Monday of May.

NYU Grad Alley
Tuesday, May 19, 5 - 8pm | West 4th Street

The square is alive with an air of nostalgia and excitement along West Fourth Street, Washington Square East, Gould Plaza, LaGuardia Place, Schwartz Plaza, and in the Frederick Loewe Theatre and the Kimmel Center's 3rd floor Market Place and 4th floor Eisner & Lubin Auditorium. Banners will serve as guides while you stroll down Grad Alley enjoying the entertainment as well as jugglers, an illusionist, Lady Liberty and more. Do no leave without trying your luck on Arcade Alley. Snacks are available while taking in the sights and entertainment.

Wristbands allow three snack location visits and one alumni tent visit.
Pick up your Grad Alley wristbands during Commencement Ticket Distribution at the Coles Sports and Recreation Center, 181 Mercer Street, between Bleecker and Houston Streets.

In honor of commencement and the 19th annual Grad Alley, the Empire State Building Tower lights will be lit up in violet and white!

The schools and colleges of New York University join together in celebrating one Commencement ceremony each year. This invitation is extended to all graduates and degree candidates for the 2014-2015 academic year.

With banners flying and wearing their violet caps and gowns, the Class of 2015 will make history as it graces the stands of Yankee Stadium for New York University's 183rd Commencement Exercises.
The ceremony includes a presidential address, a student speaker, the awarding of honorary degrees to a number of distinguished individuals, and the conferring of degrees and certificates by the president of the University only after all classes have been recognized by their deans. The program concludes with the ceremonial passing of the University torch.

*Students are required to arrive at 9 am for admittance

The Literary Mews

Global bazaar meets county fair at NYU’s “Literary Mews,” the third-annual festival within the PEN World Voices Festival, with a series of events on the NYU campus showcasing poetry, literature, and music.

All events are free and open to the public. RSVPs are required as indicated on the website here.

A preview event will be held May 7; the main festival is on May 8 and features panels, readings, performances, music, an outdoor book fair, and more.

Fuel Your Finals

Every fall and spring semester, during the last week of class and finals week, the Health Promotion Office is here to help reduce stress, promote self-care, and provide resources during students’ busiest time of the semester.

Free Breakfast

Students are invited to visit the Health Promotion Office each weekday morning, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., to relax, enjoy some entertainment and eat. Cereal, oatmeal, and fruit are provided, along with dairy, almond, and soy milk. We will also be taking breakfast on the road this semester. On Tuesday, May 12th, join us at the Health Promotion Office or at CSALS on the 7th floor in the Katzell Front Lounge from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Contents include stress reduction and study essentials—a stress toy, relaxation tips, a highlighter, earplugs, a snack and more. Pick up your kit at the Health Promotion Office, Student Health Center waiting areas, CMEP, LGBTQ Student Center, CSALS or the Student Resource Center.
