Food Fest is a unique annual friendly competition between the cultural clubs on campus who strive to wow their fellow students’ taste buds and expand their cultural understanding over food!  Clubs representing a variety of regions around the world will cook dishes that they feel best showcases their cultural traditions and will be scored by special guest judges for best taste, best presentation, and having a significant the most cultural tie.

PolyFaith: A Conversation, Regna, 1-2:30PM
Join the Muslim Student Association, Jewish Student Association, Cardinal Newman, and Navigators at the School of Engineering in collaboration with the Office of Student Activities and Resource Center for an educational interfaith event. Learn about different religious beliefs, interact with a panel that will answer both frequently asked questions and attendee questions related to their experiences as students of these faiths. There will also be an opportunity to connect with club members during a mixer reception that will include finger foods and refreshments.

International Student Coffee Hour TODAY!

This week’s Coffee Hour will cover accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s programs offered by CAS in conjunction with GSAS, Steinhardt and Wagner. Our CAS Advising colleague Scott Statland -- Associate Director of Juniors, Cross-School Minors, and Bachelor's/Master's Programs – will join us for the discussion. These accelerated programs present an amazing opportunity to complete graduate-level coursework in a timely and cost-effective manner. Having a master’s degree can help in many ways, including by providing for enhanced employment opportunities, by strengthening applications for further graduate work, and by fostering intellectual enrichment in a student’s field of study. United Nations Youth Assembly

On July 11th and 12th, NYU will have the honor of sending 150 delegates to a youth assembly at the United Nations. The assembly will focus on skill building, advocacy training, and educating about the goal of having all children in school and learning by 2015. It will culminate with a speech from Malala Yousafzai, who will celebrate her 16th birthday during the conference. Malala was shot at point-blank range for promoting girls' education, and is now a prominent voice among the global push for education and women's rights.

Our delegates, comprised of current students and recent alumni, come from a variety of backgrounds and hold various interests; they truly encapsulate the diversity of the university, as well as the breadth of individuals taking interest in this issue.

Introducing Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School

Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School in Singapore

A joint collaboration between two educational powerhouses, Duke University and the National University of Singapore, Duke-NUS is committed to developing future leaders in medicine. The 4-year graduate medical program is based on an innovative and highly rigorous curriculum, patterned after that of the Duke University School of Medicine. The MD degree awarded to graduates is a joint degree by Duke University and NUS, with the distinctive aim of developing researchers and practitioners who are exceptionally skilled in medical research and patient care.

Students are taught the fundamentals of medicine, research and patient care, and how to become lifelong learners. Duke-NUS hope to have graduates that become future leaders who will aim to improve the practice of medicine.
