International Diversity Education Week

Join NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering in recognizing the benefits of international education and exchange, as well as celebrating the variety of cultures, backgrounds, and communities represented at NYU SOE!


 Monday, November 17th                                                                   
Empower Hour, LC223, 1PM-2:30PM                                                         
November’s Empower Hour will feature dialogue surrounding international women. Join leaders from Society of Women Engineers, Women in Search of Excellence, STEMinist and Design Tinkering to talk about these issues and discuss how to empower women at the School of Engineering and worldwide. Refreshments provided.

Information Sessions
Study Abroad, RH203 12PM-1PM - Cultural Vistas, Private Dining 4:30PM
Ever thought about studying abroad? Not sure how to do it and still meet all of your major requirements? Join the staff of Undergraduate Academics and Cultural Vistas to discuss studying abroad – what to expect, where to go, how to prepare, what’s possible for your major, etc. Refreshments provided.

Wednesday, November 19th                                                                
Food Fest, RH116/Regna, 6-8 PM                                                
Food Fest is a unique annual friendly competition between the cultural clubs on campus who strive to wow their fellow students’ taste buds and expand their cultural understanding over food!  Clubs representing a variety of regions around the world will cook dishes that they feel best showcases their cultural traditions and will be scored by special guest judges for best taste, best presentation, and having a significant the most cultural tie.

Thursday, November 20th
PolyFaith: A Conversation, Regna, 1-2:30PM
Join the Muslim Student Association, Jewish Student Association, Cardinal Newman, and Navigators at the School of Engineering in collaboration with the Office of Student Activities and Resource Center for an educational interfaith event. Learn about different religious beliefs, interact with a panel that will answer both frequently asked questions and attendee questions related to their experiences as students of these faiths. There will also be an opportunity to connect with club members during a mixer reception that will include finger foods and refreshments.

Friday, November 21st
International Game Night, Regna, 5:30-9PM
Interested in learning how other countries and cultures play some of your favorite games? Join Student Council and Poly Gaming Network in an evening full of board games, video games, and free food from around the world!
