IMPACT Presents: Die Winterreise

"A Schubert song cycle in a multimedia performance by New York Concert Opera, featuring Ulrich Hartung, Baritone, and an instrumental ensemble led by Stefan Kozinski 

The New York Concert Opera performances, presented in the order of the original poems by Wilhelm Mueller, are sung by German-American baritone Ulrich Hartung and accompanied by a chamber ensemble consisting of piano, viola, cello, woodwind, and brass players in an arrangement by Stefan Kozinski, a New York composer/conductor currently at Bremen Opera. The dramatized multimedia performances are presented in 3 parts, lasting about 1 hour and 15 minutes."

Happy Chinese New Year Gala

"The third annual “Gather New York” gala will once again unite the east coast Chinese community and our friends in academia.

Come enjoy selections from the splendid tradition of Chinese performing arts including opera, dance, comedic performance and music from both southern and northern China. Prepare to be dazzled by the unbelievable Sichang Face changing trick, welcomed by a traditional Chinese dancing lion, amazed by astonishing acrobatics, and entertained by melodious Beijing and Cantonese opera. A world-renowned orchestra and a prominent national Chinese opera singer will present some of the best songs China has to offer. We cordially invite you, your family and your friends to join us.

Plus, join us after the performance to kick off the year of the horse in the Kimmel Center from 9 pm to midnight. The dance party will feature four of NYC’s hottest bands and a one-hour open bar to kick off the evening from 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Located in the 4th Floor E&L Auditorium of the Kimmel Center, 60 Washington Square South, New York, NY 10012 (adjacent to NYU Skirball Center)."
