Every fall and spring semester, during the last week of class and finals week, the Health Promotion Office is here to help reduce stress, promote self-care, and provide resources during students’ busiest time of the semester.

Free Breakfast

Students are invited to visit the Health Promotion Office each weekday morning, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., to relax, enjoy some entertainment and eat. Cereal, oatmeal, and fruit are provided, along with dairy, almond, and soy milk. We will also be taking breakfast on the road this semester. On Tuesday, May 12th, join us at the Health Promotion Office or at CSALS on the 7th floor in the Katzell Front Lounge from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Study Kits

Contents include stress reduction and study essentials—a stress toy, relaxation tips, a highlighter, earplugs, a snack and more. Pick up your kit at the Health Promotion Office, Student Health Center waiting areas, CMEP, LGBTQ Student Center, CSALS or the Student Resource Center.

We are certain many of you, as we are, experiencing a range of emotions in response to the 'no indictment' verdict announced this evening. In these moments, we believe it's important to find supportive community spaces to begin the process of making sense of our individual thoughts and collective emotions. With this in mind, we have decided to host an impromptu Community Forum in response to the verdict.

We invite you to join the Student Diversity staff and other members of our community today from 12 - 1 :30 pm in Kimmel 905/907 (760 Washington Sq S) for an informal dialogue. We hope you can join us.

NYC Pride Weekend

June is Pride month and represents a stance against discrimination and violence against the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community.  It also promotes equal rights and self-affirmation.

This weekend the LGTBQ Student Center will be marching in the Pride Parade, and you can join them or cheer them on by standing along the route this Sunday, June 29th!

Winter Olympics 2014

Will you be watching?

The 2014 Winter Olympics is the 22nd time the multi-sport event has been held.  This year the Olympics are being held in Sochi, Russia.

A number of new events will be held this year: twelve in all accounting for gender.

Sochi in the American Mirror

“Putin’s Olympics” are rightly criticized in the American press and by American politicians: the country is still grappling (poorly) with LGBT rights, the games benefit very few economically, public money and public property are channeled into private pockets, and politicians seem to be immersed in very large sums of money. Sound familiar? It should, and Russians might not be blamed for objecting to Western hypocrisy. This talk explores the global conversation about economic and social rights and considers whether there is a better way to conduct it.*
