All new NYU international students must attend a mandatory
check-in workshop with the OGS as soon as possible once you arrive to
the United States.
This is a requirement of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security
(DHS) for F-1 and J-1 students, thus failure to attend a check-in
workshop may jeopardize your ability to remain legally in the U.S. When
workshops are scheduled, they will appear on the right-hand side of this
page where you will then be able to sign-up for your preferred session.
Special note: J-1 students sponsored by other organizations (such as
Fulbright) and dependents of F-1 and J-1 NYU students do not need to
attend.
What to bring:
-
Passport
-
I-20 or DS-2019
-
Emergency contact information (U.S. and abroad)
-
Your dependent’s documents (if you have dependents)
Remember:
- Workshops last approximately one hour.
- Arrive at least 15 minutes early
- Latecomers are not admitted.
For workshop times and to sign up, visit the OGS website here.
