The Literary Mews

Global bazaar meets county fair at NYU’s “Literary Mews,” the third-annual festival within the PEN World Voices Festival, with a series of events on the NYU campus showcasing poetry, literature, and music.

All events are free and open to the public. RSVPs are required as indicated on the website here.

A preview event will be held May 7; the main festival is on May 8 and features panels, readings, performances, music, an outdoor book fair, and more.

"Amy Tan is one of the most prominent Chinese American authors, best known for such novels as The Joy Luck Club. In her latest book, The Valley of Amazement, she finds inspiration from her family's history, especially from early 1900's-era Shanghai. She will be joined by Orville Schell, Arthur Ross Director of the Center on U.S.-China Relations, to discuss the reconstruction of memory and family stories for fiction writing."
