We know some of you will be hosting family and friends over the Thanksgiving holiday, so we have compiled a list of fun things to do around the city!
- For those of you who wish to give back over the holiday, consider joining Feeding NYC two days before Thanksgiving Day. By volunteering, you will help prepare, package, and deliver food to more than 35,000 NYC families in need. Click here to learn more about this volunteer opportunity.
- If you want to start celebrating early, make your way to the American Museum of Natural History to watch as the balloons are inflated for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! Inflation takes place on Wednesday from 3:00-10:00pm. Click here to learn more.
- Now for the BIG event: The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! This is one of NYC's most popular events of the year! Click here for the parade route.

- For those of you who like shopping, NYC's biggest shopping day of the year falls on the day after Thanksgiving. Click here to find the list of stores that open early on Black Friday.
- Once Thanksgiving ends, it's Christmas time in the city! What better way to start off the holiday season than ice skating in Bryant Park? Click here to learn more about the Bryant Park Winter Village.
- Interested in getting some fresh air and exercise after all that eating? Then join the Greenbelt Nature Center as they guide you on a 2.5 mile hike through Blood Root Valley Park. Click here for more details.
- Other fun events include The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, The New York City Ballet: The Nutcracker, Central Park Bike Tour + Photoshoot, and NYC Walking Tours.
Have a wonderful break!
