Overview of what is needed to work on-campus and how to find work on-campus

What are the documents you need to work on campus as an F-1 or J-1 student? What about Social Security cards? Learn the answers to these questions and receive a glossary of words to know as you look for work on-campus.

A representative from the Wasserman Center for Career Development and an advisor from the Office of Global Services will co-present this session. 

Seating is limited. The RSVP is only for reminder purposes. Latecomers are welcome as space allows.  Use your @nyu.edu email address to RSVP.

(Fulbright students and other students with DS2019s not issued by NYU should contact their sponsor for information on how to get a work authorization letter.)

Overview of your NYU-sponsored J-1 status here at NYU

This session is for J-1 students with DS-2019 documents issued by the NYU Office of Global Services. An OGS adviser will discuss your work options, the two year home residency requirement, how to qualify for a social security number, and NYU offices that are excellent cultural resources. 

Optional: You may find it helpful to bring copies of your passport and DS2019.  

Students with documents issued by IIE (Fulbright), LASPAU, and other third party sponsors do NOT need to attend.  Please seek advice from your sponsor directly.
